CREATHLON DAY : CAPSURGENCE START - UP

Updated: Jan 19, 2022

Creathlon Day introduces leadership & management when it comes to creating a Start-Up from the bottom. The challenge of this day was to identify a need in our society and try to adress it by creating a service that people could benefit from.

At the beggining of the day, the whole promotion had a presentationb by past engineering student at ENSEEIHT who actually created they own Start-Up about their journey. They got help from "Les Entrep'" and "Pepite France" to concretize their ideas and make their Start-Up eventully emerge.

All the intervenant will be our coaches of the day, to advise us on our business plan, our pitch and so on.

My team was made of five other students from EEEA. We had the chance to decide very quicky on our project so we started working on it from the very beggining of the day. We identify a need in our society about safety for ambulances. In United States, they are approximatly 2.000 crashes involving ambulances per year. Also, so many more lives could be saved if the ambulances actually could get to people injured or in distress more quickly.

Therefore we started thinking about an other mean of transportation that could be use as an ambulance and we come up with the metro. It is indeed a faster and safer way of transporting people. The idea is to create capsules on the metro railway that are actually wagon provided with all medical devices exactly like in an ambulance. Since metro-station are already very spread in cities and that each city hospital has a metro-station nearby, this service is easier to establish. Nevertheless, we had to think about how emergency capsules and commun daily metros would be synchronous on the same railways. Thereby, we designed a deviation system to allow both metro-ambulances et common-metro to

Our service took the name of "Capsurgence".

The most teaching and instructive segment of the Creathlon Day was the final pitch. It was indeed a challenging exercice since we had to summarize everything we brainstormed about during eight hours in 2 min-speech. Eventhough it was the toughest part, we managed to make it theatrical with a little play so our audience could be more engaged with our ideas.

All in all, the Creathlon Day was personnally a great learning experience. I finished off the day with many more knowledge about leadership, marketing and business plans. Team work was a momentous aspect of our work. We considerably had to exchange our own ideas and debate about them to come up with better solutions.
